Before the Season Turns — Dinner One: The Clam Bake, Reimagined
Clam bakes are a Northeast Ohio institution.
They are also, if we're being honest, often a little disappointing.
The clam bake deserves better. Better ingredients. A more considered menu. The same spirit of abundance and gathering — but elevated by what's actually fresh, local, and in season the first week of September rather than whatever is easiest to source.
So we're doing our own version.
THE DINNER
The first dinner of the Before the Season Turns series is our take on the Northeast Ohio clam bake — reimagined through the lens of what's growing, what's fresh, and what we actually want to eat at the end of a long summer.
The menu will not be revealed until you arrive at the table. We'll tell you the theme — the clam bake, done right — and the rest you'll discover when you sit down. Come with an open palate and a willingness to be surprised. That is how the best meals happen.
Three to four courses. Family style. Everything passed and shared. Intentional spirit-free pairings with each course.
Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Tuesday, September 1st. Sixteen seats.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
Four courses of locally sourced, seasonal ingredients at their late summer peak
Intentional beverage pairings
An evening at a long table in Chagrin Falls with fifteen other people who showed up for it
