about moja
[moy-ah]
moja means mine in Croatian.
It's what my grandfather always called me — a term of endearment that never needed translation. Building this studio felt the same way. Not a traditional path, not a tidy job title. Just mine — my food, my community, my way of bringing people to the table.
I grew up eating well and asking where things came from. I studied food science & sustainable agriculture, worked farms in Italy and kitchens in Croatia, and came home to Cleveland with a way of thinking about food that didn't fit inside any one job title.
So I built a table instead. moja is what grew from it — the dinners, the retreats, the brand work, the writing, the community. Not a traditional route. Just mine.
the sabbaticals
A few days somewhere the food actually tastes like somewhere.
The land. The market. The long table every evening. A small group of guests who arrive as strangers and leave as something closer to friends.
work with moja
MOJA partners with brands, producers, and makers whose work belongs at a real table.
& the ones that do tend to share the same things — a commitment to quality, a relationship with where their ingredients come from, and a belief that the way something is made matters as much as what it is.
If that sounds like you, there is a seat here.
Past and current collaborations have included farm partnerships, ingredient sourcing relationships, event co-hosts, and long-table brand dinners where the product is part of the story rather than a sponsor of it.
Is This Seat Taken?
A weekly letter about food, land, and the life that grows around the table. Written by Emily. Reads like a letter from someone who has been thinking about this for a long time.
