Book Club | January 2027: Braiding Sweetgrasss

from $22.00

Pull up a chair (and a book). This is a slow, cozy book club for people who love food, land, and the stories behind what ends up on our plates. We’ll read mostly nonfiction about food systems, agriculture, and the natural world, with picks that change with the seasons.

Our first read: Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer
A botanist and member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, Kimmerer weaves Indigenous wisdom, plant science, and personal story into a book about gratitude, reciprocity, and how we care for the land that feeds us. It’s around 400 pages, so we’re taking our time with it.

The gathering: Sunday, January 10, 4-6 PM in Ohio City (Cleveland, OH)
Oysters, wine, tea, and little snacks, plus a long, unhurried conversation about the book (and probably everything else). There’s no homework energy and no pressure to finish every page. This is a place to connect.

About the books
Copies are ordered in bulk through Loganberry Books, a beloved independent bookshop in Cleveland. Pick yours up locally or have it mailed to you. Orders close December 10, 2026 so books arrive with plenty of time to read.
